Major Injection Molder

PROBLEM:

To delicately remove the freshly molded threaded parts from the cavities of the injection molder.

SOLUTION:

Design and fabricate a Pick and Place system with the capabilities of fitting within very tight space constraints and retrieve four freshly molded parts at a time.

SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS:

Provide a system that can be mounted over the top of the injection molder, can descend all the way down to the molded parts, positively grip the parts from above, unscrew them, compensating for the change in height due to the unscrewing action, without damage to the hot parts or their soft, delicate threaded area.

EQUIPMENT FURNISHED:

  Intermittent motion Pick and Place unit.
 Four individual grippers.
 Four detorquing/unscrewing units.
 Descending/Ascending dual slide mechanisms.
 Compensating thread travel tracking and vertical motion retrieval system.
 Transfer and discharge repositioning.
